Another Xander

Xander has a demon bird form based on the Bearded vulture.

I took some liberties and just gave him smoke wings/tail/cloak that covers him and a bird mask thing.

I also included two images of close ups for detail. God i love the new brushes i downloaded for sai. Especially the cloud one that i used for the smoke. Holy fuck man.

I actually hadn’t been thinking of his bird form yet, I just assumed it looked very much like an adolescent Bearded Vulture (as far as I can tell, they’re mostly black, or some of them are). I might change the idea around a bit but it’s really, really cool~ u3u

Kinda reminds me of Volvagia from LOZ:OOT a bit, I might extend this from that, too…

One of my characters, she’s around 16 years old, and married to the Nightmare King, Thatch. I needed to do better concept art for her because I wasn’t happy with the way her hair came out, and I wanted to add horns or something. This is the original design for her is the second image.

I got her name from the song “Lady Marlene” by Katzenjammer, not that I think I’m going to relate her to that song too much, but I really liked the name.

[Mod]: Tis the first frame of that rp I’m doing with Brandon. Trying to figure out what sort of coloring style I should use for the pannels of the comic, and I want to do something similar to Ava’s Demon, but I might have to download Photoshop to get it looking a bit smoother. I also can’t figure out the lighting of this, as there’s supposed to be an overhead light above him. I noticed in Ava’s Demon… it’s hard to explain, but it seems more like the lines facing a light source are what’s highlighted more. I have looked around at her blog and tutorial and stuff, so it might be easier for me to grab a gradient and shade from that, somehow… I dunno, I’m getting a little frustrated that my soft brush isn’t as soft as I want it, and blurring it is too much. And I’m not sure how to go about colored-outlines either, as I tried here. I started with a color to match his hair, and then used black towards the bottom, and a darker skin tone everywhere else. I really looks strange in general. /flop
